Default Replacing Bose Stereo, how to adjust OEA-4 adapter?

I have a 5-speaker Bose system in my 96 and plan on replacing just the stereo with an updated Sony unit with Bluetooth (this is so I don't have to grow a 3rd arm to talk on the phone while driving my M6). I know the amps and speakers remaining in the system are a bit odd regarding impedance and level so I've purchased a Scosche OEA-4 adapter to adjust the signal from the HU to the amps. Here are the directions I've been given:

http://scosche.com/ecom/download/oea4_inst.pdf

Rather than tuning the output levels by ear (I'm not sure if it's possible to do this without going deaf), is there any way to properly set the signal by matching the resistance to that of the stock system? That is, adjust the OEA-4 more precisely by using a multimeter? Is there any way to find out these values?

Yeah, the 5 speaker Bose system. Just replaced it today. The OEA-4 is a POS.
