Default Replacement wiper arm trouble

Hey guys,

I recently bought a 99 camaro and the passenger side wiper arm was snapped off. I didn't think this would be too big of a deal, but I can't seem to locate one. Not easily, anyway. I know I could probably go to a junkyard, but this holiday season is particularly busy for me. The closest I've found is for a 95 by Dorman. Would this fit my 99? thanks in advance

Thats a weird looking wiper arm. I got replacement wiper arms for my 2002 Z28 from Sears.

Believe it or not, the arms are different on a '95 and a '99. First, the '95 has the plastic cover on it, and secondly, the hook at the end of the arm where the new blades attach is reversed on the two. The '95 hooks upward, and the '99 will hook downward. The arm should technically work, but it will be different.

i totally believe that. so it should still work? not super concerned with aesthetic, i just need it to pass inspection, preferably before the holidays

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't. There's a '96 and a '99 in the driveway here, and other than the two differences I noted earlier, they look interchangeable. I took pics of each that I can post later in case it helps you out.

Not only are the arms different but the posts are different too. If you use the newer arms on the older posts the arm will be angled wrong and will cause chattering. The updated nose also got different wiper posts.

The older arms will fit the newer "Catfish" cars but may not sit right on the glass. The plastic cowl parts are the same from the older cars to the catfish cars.

I found 2 GM direct type sites that can get them for you.

and

The second one you will have to do the search, the wiper arms are in the Windshield section.

Thanks, gang. I wasn't 100% sure. They looked about the same at first glance, but apparently are much more different that I thought. Me = d'oh!
