just replaced the opti in my 94z28 myself and reasemebled everything and now the car wont turn over. it cranks but does not turn over, and i can smell gas fumes under the hood so i know its getting fuel. When i replaced the opti it took me a bit but i found the key groove and it slid right in without being forced and it was tight against the timing chain cover. Anyone know what i did wrong? any advice would be nice cause i am really bumed out after all that work that it still doesnt work. Also before i removed the old opti the car would start but not rn right and i got the codes for the hi res and low res failure.

Did you run your wires correctly?

 

ya i doubled checked the the wires. i replaced the opti cause i got codes 16, 36, and 42. is there something else that could be causing this problem??

 

cranking and turning over are the same thing

 

arent you the guy that bought a cheap opti off ebay after i told you not to?

 

check for spark coming out of the coil and out of the opti.
