You could always just do what I did: Tell your dad to get his new Tahoe out of the garage so you can park your 15 year old Camaro in there. I never have to worry about frost or fog :P

what if it gets foggy from heavy breathing on them cold mornings?? HMMMM?

LOL but no your car is fine, it just prevents it from overheating. technology aint perfecct

I'm gonna try checking that connection on mine.
The dashboard toggle switch lights up but the window never gets defrosted. I've heard the defrost wire on the glass can get breaks in it that can be repaired with a kit from parts store.

In my case it heats up but not even near as long as it requires to melt the ice or snow...
