Angry Rear end swap Help!

Hello, I am not sure how to use forums as I've never even posted on one before so please direct me if I've done something incorrectly.

I am a student in college and I own a 1995 Camaro (yay OBD 1.5) this year has rear drum brakes, today I went to the junk yard and picked up a 1997 Pontiac rear end, im getting it media blasted, and having my dads old detroit locker put in it (until i have the money to really sink good parts into it) but i noticed today when taking off the calipers and gimbles they were heavily ceased and the pistons are heavily pitted (as i expected) these were horrible to take off from the way they were engineered, from the E brake assembly getting in the way to Allen bolts!!! Really?? so my question is, if I order stock 4th gen calipers will those gimbles be compatible with the mounting plate for the pontiac rear end? or should i just bite the bullet and buy pontiac calipers???

If it's a Firebird/TransAm rear end it should be the same as a 4th gen Camaro.

A locker seem very overkill for a V6. The 97 rears is from a V8 car and should have a posi in it. The locker is designed for drag racing the factory posi is design for road use. A locker will get you one wheel spinning around a corner and it will "lock" in a straight line.. A factory posi will limit the one wheel slip going around a corner. When swapping rears its easiest when the traction control systems from both cars match.

Just for future ref, if you want to know capability just look up both cars and the part in question on Rock auto and see if they are the same part number. You can also use car-parts.com to see what other years and car the parts are used on.
