ABS is one nice thing to have, but I see it as being a lot more important for the front wheels so they retain steering in the slick shiit. Traction control? I ALWAYS switched mine off, unless it was raining heavily. Do you drive the car in the snow? If not, I wouldn't be as **** about the traction devices.

I don't feel like I need traction control (it's not like the Camaro goes out in the snow much anyway), but if he gets the wrong rear-end he'll have an ABS InOp light constantly lit on his gauge cluster and his ABS won't function at all...

ABS only uses a single speed sensor on top of the differential housing. ABS + TCS uses speed sensors at each rear wheel. So if the sensor wiring does not match, the ABS won't work. The axle should bolt up either way.

there is also a 3channel and 4 channel abs. I dont know where everything ets its name, but prehaps the 3 channel is both front wheels and 1 at the axle? aka non tcs? 4 channel is 1 at each wheel?

I know I have a 3 channel ABS, cost me an extra couple hundred when i bought my damn rear end....

Yes, three channel has a total of 3 speed sensors, one in each front wheel and one in the center of the rear axle, by the differential. Four channel has a speed sensor on each of the four wheels.
