Default Really could use some advice.

When I first got my WS6 I was blown away at the performance. Now, I'm used to it and I need some more horsepower. I've got a few things around here that I plan on selling to get some cash and want to beef it up a bit. I was thinking of a LS6 intake and a fairly aggressive cam. My main concern is that for the moment, this is my only vehicle, my daily driver. Would it be stupid of me to go ripping into it or is a cam and intake fairly minor when it comes to messing with the reliability of an LS1?

Also I plan on having it installed by a competent mechanic, any idea about how much something like that would run, just labor. I also read somewhere that there is an intake that makes even more horsepower than the LS6 for the LS1's anybody know what it'scalled?

As long as you dont go to agresive with the cam and have it installed by a good tech you should be ok. Headers, y pipe, catback, and lid by its self with practice at the track can put you into the 12s. BBK makes a good intake for the car as well as the LSX FAST intake.

Exactly. A mild cam would be more suitable for a DD. Keep in mind that when playing with the cam, you have a lot of variables that revolve directly around it, such as rockers, valve springs, lifters, pushrods, and even torque converters and optional transmission coolers.
