rattling Exhaust and kick

Angry rattling Exhaust and kick

I have a 97 RS v6 and i have a rattling exhaust other than the aound from my cherry and on top of that my engine sorta kicks when i press on the gas almost like something is caught in my **** im thinking its the cat but not sure and when i check under the hood ot smells like plastic is burning all advice is welcomed this is my first and this car is my baby!

yep it does sound like it could be the cat is plugged. you getting a hissing sorta sound outa the exhaust pipe? maybe try unhooking exhaust before cat and see if it runs better. oh and i moved your thread to the 4th gen section for you. welcome to the forum, enjoy.

the exhaust on the 4th gen cars there is so much filler in the cat an mufflers I don't even know how they get any air ,its all part of not getting to much carbon in the air an other gases ,sound like burnt out cat like craby said

Yea me and my old man checked it out some more and believe it is the cat and the cpu read a misfire with ine of my coils so im replacing the cat with a through flow the guy that had it before me treated the car terrible thanks for the info fellas

if you still have performance issues after new cat you may have to replace muffler. when cat goes to pieces it will plug itself but pieces can also go into muffler and plug it as well.
