Default Random Cylinder misfire

Hey all, i have a 99 with at 3800 in that under normal driving conditions seems to run fine. But if I am going along at any speed and get in that gas hard ( put it to the floor) the engine goes to missing like nothing i have ever seen and the check engine light comes on with a code for random cylinder misfire. The car has new plugs and wires so what else could be the cause? Any ideas would be appreciated.

Tony

i would suspect one of the coils is getting tired. check all your coil connections and plug and plug wires. could be one is damaged.
