Default Question Fuel Economy 2001 V6 3.8L Camaro

I'm fairly new to this Camaro Forum.

Just recently purchased a wrecked 2001 V6 3.8L Camaro.

The engine was perfectly in tact and had only 53 thousand miles on it.

I removed the engine and am swapping it in another car.

My question to you good folks here is:

With the fuel prices sky rocketing. What kind of fuel economy can I expect to get with a 2001 V6 3.8L Camaro engine?

I've never owned one of these engines before. But have heard decent things about them.

Thank You.

Thanks. Is your car a 2001 V6 aswell?

I guess it also depends how one drives.

The 3800 is rated '19cty / 30Hwy (31Hwy for 5spds)', which is about what I was getting when she was healthy.

Crabby, 380 HP is a lot of horse power. Mine is only 200 Horse Power since it is a V6 so I'd like to think I'll do even better.

Obviously with less power.

I might have missed it somewhere but what happened to your car? I have seen the images of her on stands.

Oh and for the MPG stuff, I have a 99 3.8 and I get about 30 hwy and 22 in town. Cost me about $40 to fill empty and I drive for almost 2 weeks on a tank. The V8s get about the same mileage becaue those engines are not working as hard to move the car so they gain in efficiency slightly. Now when we V6rs play with the right petal we dont gulp down as much as the V8s do. My friend can play all day in his Z... I can play all week in my RS.
