Question for Craby
Craby,
I have 3 4th Generation V8 F Bodies. A 94 Z28, a 99 Z28 and an 02 Formula Firebird. I only put a few miles on the cars each year. I don't drive them much at all. The 99 and the 02 only see a few hundred mikes in peak summer weather. The LS cars are ultra low miles in showroom new condition. The 94 sees about 5k per year. The cars are stored outside and are exposed to the north east winters. My question is...how often should I be replacing
1. Oil...should I change it every year regardless of miles. In the LS cars, I run Mobil 1, 0-40. In the LT1 I run Shell Rotella T-5 half synthetic.
2. How often should I change the gear oil? Do I go by mileage or time?
3. Antifreeze? Miles or Time?
4. How often should I flush the Power Steering Fluid?
5. Brake Fluid? Mile's or time?
6. Clutch Fluid? Mile's or time?
7. Transmission gear oil
8. Finally Craby, is their a benefit to performance if I replace my stock coil packs with the new Accell coil packs that put out more energy? One engine is mostly stock, one has a cam, head work, air and intake work along w a complete SLP exhaust.
Thank you Craby for offering sound advice. Looking foward to your response.

I'm not Craby, but JMT's
Follow Owner's Manual first.
Since outside, change everything every two years, regardless of mileage.
Antifreeze can go four years, and at the same time, replace all hoses.
Look at the date code, ie, 1Q02, meaning first qtr of 2002.
True, outside of hoses look fine, but inside may have fractures and cracks, and belt also.

i try to change oil before and after summer at a minimum but i put more miles on than you. antifreeze is the only time product in your list. the rest are both. i would sorta agree with everett every year on most fluids. gear oil i would go a few years. gear oil works better after some use and so long as its not overheated can go for quite some time. brake and clutch fluid will change color when its getting degraded. with a stock opti you will want to use stock coil. with the ls1 i think stock is good as well. unless your running a built motor you will see at most a minimal difference.
