does the hole in the hood scoop actually do anything besides looks / put air right over the engine?? Looking at pictures it looks like the scoop would just open up over the engine for perhaps cooling.

I am sort of confused if someone could explain its exact function...it isnt ram air right ?

 

yep it works, goes to the air box for "ram air" no cooling purposes

Ok so what if the plastic piece in the scoop it solid plastic with the vents not cut out? That would make it not a functional hood scoopright?

 

the lil plastic piece is a grill to keep stuff from going into it bugs or wat not and it has vents in it so it breaths
