Default question about obd 1.5

i found this site with a 16 pin connector, could i use this with the obd 1 software on my computer to read codes off of my (1994 camaro automatic 3.4) since all it is is a obd2 plug with obd1 computer right? is there any other methods i could use (with laptop) to pull codes? or without laptop if its fairly inexpensive? site i found cable at below.

If you wait a few hours someone will post a picture showing you that you can use an OBDI connector, with 3 wires connecting 3 pins(it's in a thread I started a few months back, I'll see if I can find it). That cord is exactly what your looking for though, but idk if a regular OBDI cable is significantly cheaper.

*Edit* I looked back, I guess it isn't in my thread. It's basicly 3 wires plugged into 3 pins in the OBDI scanner connector and 3 pins on the OBDII plug. It doesn't look as neat as your cord though.

I purchased an AutoXray 5000 for 165.00 on Ebay that scannes OBD1 & 2, below. It has the cable you need, just make sure it is in ENGLISH and has All the cables !!

But I wan't to try the setup below next, it's cheaper if you have a Laptop.

The $30.00 code readers do not work on your car. All they do is flash codes, which your PCM will not do. You need a proper scanner to get the codes. See link on how to make up an adapter cable.

That's the exact pic I was looking for. If you just need a code reader then go with the cheapest option. Personally I'd buy the laptop cord, If I remeber right they can be used to log driving information (RPM and stuff), and can be a lot of fun. I could be completly wrong about that though.
