Question about Camaro
Well I'm about to take a loan out from the bank and I've been stuck on getting something like a Jetta or Pulasr some sort of import car. My dad said he'd never co-sign an import car and saidI should be looking at Camaros. So I've been looking at a 1995 Camaro with the LT1 engine. Would this be a good car for me to get around to work, make the odd 4 hour trip. I want something that will be fun to drive and it seems this car has some decent power.. What kind of power does it have and wort sort of things can be done to make it even quicker??
Heck yea
It's a 13 second car that looks good and really winds it up on the back roads so I guess that should be better then a Jetta or a stinking pulasr (whatever that is)
There are lots of products in the aftermarket but they are pretty fast stock so drive it around awhile before tearing into it.

It's not quite a 13 second car[>:] Low 14's stock if you can drive it well. Needless to say, it's a fun car to drive and it will make a jetta look like a sloth. You won't get as good of gas milage as you would with a stock Jetta or other little 4 banger, but hey, it's a lot more fun to drive and it sounds good too! I drive mine back and forth between work and home, and when I was in highshcool there and home as well, it worked fine for me!
13 second, 14 second? Who cares the car is fast stock!! The parts for these cars are almost unlimited so that's not even an issue. A nice muffler will really bring out the sound of that bad boy. You won't regret your choice. Your pops told you that? He's got to be the smartes pops out there!!

How much quicker would it be with some simple work such as an intake and headers? Maybe exhaust to but that would be moreso to make it sound mean.

jettas are becoming all the craze around where i live. I think they are the new ricers or something. I can't tell you how many i see in my neighborhood with 18" rims driving around. One family even has two of the exact same year jettas in the same color and rims lol.
Nothing beats good old American Muscle! In stock form your LT1 engine puts out 275 horses, and getting it to hit the 300 h.p. mark is easy. Just putting on a free flowing exhaust, anda K&N cold air intake will make a noticeable difference, and you can also modify the throttle body.I used to have a 96 z28 andI boughtthe Hypertech Power Programmer for it. It's a fun toy that allows you to play with the on-board computer settings to dial in more power, change shift points, turn cooling fan on earlier, etc. As far as the headers go, you will gain a little in the h.p.department, but I don't feel the change you will notice is worth the money and time spent, unless you're drag racing it professionally and need to squeeze every last drop out of it. The mileage rating on that car is 25 highway, but that's if driven sensibly, which rarely happened with me! Buy the Camaro, and smoke the ricers, or would that be the sauerkrauter's?
