question about 2002 Z-28
Alright so before i get flamed for being a mustang guy in a chevy forum, just hear me out. I'm not one of the "ford VS chevy" types, im a car guy, as long as its got a badass motor in it and looks cool, im all about it.
So to get to the point ive got a friend with a 2002 Z-28 its got the sport package, first off what does that mean? is it just handling stuff or does it have a different air box or whatever? anyways shes got longtubes, an off road y pipe, and american thunder catback and it hasnt had a tune yet. shes got the automatic version and LOVES to talk trash about how slow mustangs are.. now i could care less about that part, but we used to date and of course ive driven her car, dont get me wrong that LS1 threw me back into the seat HARD when i put my foot down. so with full exhaust and stock style street tires, stock suspension, what should her car run in the 1/4 mile say if she cuts a 2.0 60'. Im honestly just trying to get information becuase i know nothing about the LS1, besides the fact that its pretty much a badass motor, now if im not mistaken they came from the factory with 350BHP right? Understandably they were underrated, but by how much? what would an ls1 either z or ss typically dyno at 100% stock from the factory, just for my knowledge stick and auto. and is there that big of a difference between stick and auto with camaro's? i know mustangs have really crappy auto transmissions and sticks are typically close to half a second faster or more that autos in the quarter. thanks for the info guys!

RE: question about 2002 Z-28
SS was mainly an exterior set of options. They came with a different hood, and a different rear spoiler. Along with the hood they came with a functional "Ram-Air" style intake (that didn't get them any extra HP on the 98-02, but it did buy them some on the 96-97). Other than that everything was option based and specific to that car. There was an optional "Stage 2" suspension, different cat back etc.
