So how much should this all cost? Also if you hid your button somewhere like the ash tray how hard is the actual wiring of the whole job?

simple, just like wiring a sterio. It cost me $4, I had the wire.
But wire is like $3.99 and the button is $3-$6 so overall
it should stay less then $10.

How hard was cutting out the area for the button?

just use a paddle bit if its bigger that 1/2 inch

that totally depends on where you put it. I put the button in the ash tray. I simply drilled a hole in the back. Took a few seconds.

I want to do this to my camaro too i think its the same as urs a 96 Rs can you post your progress or some pictures? I really want too see how this turns out

well the push button had to be put on hold for a couple days the bolt that holds the bar that runs from the rear diff to the trans (on the trans) fell outta my car today and of course the threads in the trans are stripped out WTF now i gotta drill it and tap it

ive been wanting to do a push button start..i think ill do one on the cavalier just so i gets the jist on how its gonna go for when i get a fbody..

Mine only cost 10 bucks b/c I got my push botton outta a S2000 from a junk yard, and the minimum charge for a part is 10 bucks. I had all the tools, toggle switches, and wire laying around my shop.
