Oh yea i keep forgetting about shbox sometimes. I think the FPR is fine, i replaced that when i did the intake gaskets as well. No fuel leaking or smells. Soon as a turn the car off the pressure drops rapidly. I guess im installing a new pump and replacing those rubber hoses near the filter..ill toss a new filter in while im down there. Its weird how this happened so fast. I still get the whine noise from the pump when priming.

Ok Crabby i have one last question. I know I am dragging this thread out a little longer than it needs to be. I appreciate the patience. Ok, so now I am leaning towards fuel issues (no pun intended). The oil pressure needle still fluctuates. I am assuming since the engine isnt performing well due to lack of fuel it is causing the engine to not pump enough oil through which in turn is causing this needle to jump around? Im kind of nervous to get back there and take the OPSU off to hook a guage up to it, everything is so frail i dont want to cause damage.
Thanks for the help

do the new fuel filter first. dump contents out into a clear container so you can see what if anything is in the filter. be sure to dump it from the tank side so you see anything the filter caught and if enough to plug filter. the oil pressure sending unit is on the driver side of the block, just above the oil filter. every once in a while my gauge goes wack and jumps to max, i may need to look around on mine as well.

(another update) Ok so no luck with the fuel filter change...the fuel did look a bit dirty but i'm not sure if that's it, i have been refilling my tank with fresh gas for the past few days to get it to circulate..after i changed the fuel filter i did another fuel pressure test and it seems to have worsened. I thought maybe the gauge wasnt hooked up right but when i removed the FPR hose it shot up to 40psi and the pressure drops but not as fast as it did before. When i turn the key to on it only went up to 10psi..... Im going to order a new set of o rings for the injectors, fuel pump and some 02 sensors. I bought some electronics cleaner too for all the sensors. I don't want to toss parts at it but i want to rule these out and pray its not the heart of optimus prime since they are due anyways...

I thought if the fpr was failing it wouldnt have risen in psi when i removed the hose during testing. The psi drops so quickly i figured a check vavle in the pump or something failed. Im Not trying to be argumentative but what are the signs of a failing fpr? That thing is ac delco brand new just over a year old. Plus with that rig i had to setup on the fuel filter line i dont ever think.ill have adequate pressure. I had to use a double male ended filter.

sorry took so long,,, is the vacumm hose for the fpr hooked to the lower outlet on the side of the intake? if the pump was bad the pressure should not jump from 10 to 40 unhooking the vacuum. that in itself tells me the pump will put out 40lbs of pressure but the fpr is only letting it go to 10.
