Pulling codes on a 93 Z28
You'll probably have to go to a Chevy dealership for the '93, they're different from all the other 4th gens in that they have a Memcal chip instead of a reprogrammable PCM, most Advance Autoparts or Checker or whatever you have near you only read OBDII cars with their scanners.
I'm not sure about the Camaro, I know on my friends Subaru that is OBDI there was a variety of different connectors under the dash that you can connect/disconnect and you could count the SES light flashes, but I'm not sure about the paperclip thing.
The paper clip trick won't work in your car. You car had an OBDI PCM with a OBDII diagnostic connector. You need a OBDI scanner with an adapter to plug into the OBDII connector, or you can use some jumper wires in place of the adapter.
