Default proper way to clean wheel speed sensors?

my low trac light has been coming on and the abs is actuating randomly when braking. my mech said the wheel speed sensor on the front driver side is working but is reading a little faster than the other two, causing the abs to kick in. he suggested letting it ride until it totally kills over then replacing it. i was wondering what the proper method for cleaning one is? or should i just let it go until it kills over? i'm pushing close to 800 dollars in other repairs just this week and would like to give cleaning a shot to see if it clears up the issue.

my speed sensor is inside the hub on the front. can't get to it so can't clean. hub is easy to change.

on front the speed sensor wiring harness is a common failure point.

It means buy a new hub, sensor is built in.

its really easy if your doing a brake job at the same time. you have to take the wheel, brake caliper and rotor off, remove hub, reinstall new hub, brakes and wheel. harness is not that long goes from hub to inside the wheel well. just a while back i could find one easy now all i see are connectors with pigtail.

You can always unplug it until you can afford to fix it. That's what I did. I'd only do this if you feel comfortable with not having ABS.
