Unhappy Problems with my Camaro

Hey everybody,

This is my first post but I've had my Camaro for a while now. I've had a 98 Camaro SS for 7 years which I absolutely love, however the problems with it are beyond frustrating.

I have the notorious security light that comes on and the car doesn't start. I know this has to do with my LATS system. I know the tricks, wipe down the key try again but as of late those tricks aren't working as good. Also not only does it not start but sometimes the alarm goes off as well. I while back I took it in to get an aftermarket security system, this has seemed to fix the alarm going off when the security light is on but sometimes at random points of the day/night the horn honks. Usually just once. Its very strange. I've read alot about other people having the security light issue but I don't read anything about the horn going off.

Sometimes as well when I'm driving I notice that the radio will randomly go off and not work, when this happens my window switches do not work as well. I've read somewhere that this is a BCM error, does that sound right?

I really just want to enjoy the car, but all the electrical issues just bug the hell out of me. I guess the point of this post is can these issues be fixed for good? Alot of places I read, especially with the LATS, are just tricks to get it working. Even better does anyone from Northern California, preferably Bay area, know where I could take it to get it fixed.

Thank you all in advance and I'm glad to be posting!
