Problem fixed?
The only thing lately I've replaced was the ignition switch. I took the battery loose while doing this. It just started back doing what was in the beginning.
I haven't yet, guess I'll just have to go buy a gauge. I can always use it. I did notice something I haven't mentioned before, when I turn the key you hear the fuel pump kick on then it kicks off like its supposed to BUT every once in a while I'm trying to crank it and the engine turns over the fuel pump kicks on but when you let off the key you still hear the pump running until you cut the key off.
I don't know if any of these codes will help or not, they are not the actual Check Engine codes but I found how to retrieve the codes from the BCM so here they are in the order which they were retrieved and what the chart said they meant:
25 - Security LED present (AU6 only)
31 - Courtesy Lamps Feed (circuit shorted to ground)
33 - Retained accessory power (circuit shorted to ground or battery +)
35 - Security LED present (AU6 only)
55 - Begin configuration display
-## hardware configuration

Well I found out what these two might be. I got a map light style rear view mirror out of a 99 camaro and was going to put it in mine because I have no interior light except for the one in the hatch. As I was removing the one from the 99 I noticed one of the 3 wires was a small white wire, then I remembered seeing the same wire above my fuse panel but it wasn't attached to anything. When I got to looking closer behind my fuse panel I saw the ohther two wires cut where they entered the main harness. Possibly one of them was intermittently touching ground some where under the dash. This may not be the only wiring issue.
Could be the fuel pump is overheating and going out. I does it (won't start) whether its hot or cold
Could be your catalytic converter is restricted, which will get worse as it heats up, enough to choke and kill the engine. Don't have one
Could be the ignition module is overheating and killing spark. again does it hot or cold, had that tested and passed fine
Obviously the best thing to do is check for spark and fuel when it kills, but that's not very convenient. my buddy left his scanner with me so if it does it again I can check for codes
Checking fuel pressure and exhaust flow would be the first logical steps. I haven't found gauge yet for pressure. exhaust is duals with flow masters, nothing to restrict.

It cranked fine today so I drove it for a short errand. When I got back in the car it would crank over but wouldn't start. I hooked up the scanner and checked for codes and it was still only showing the PO140 code. while it was starting over it "sounded" like it was trying to crank but wouldn't. I decided to try deleting the code and it fired right up, no problem! I drove back home and started it several times with no problem. I pulled the BCM down to check for a crack that I've read about and while it was down I went to crank it again and the security light came on but it started right up and the security light stayed on. One garage said it sounded like the computer was going out in it, I don't know.
