i believe the spectre is a oiled filter as well. the oil may be fouling the maf. take the maf back and tell them its not working.

found this on the 507. may want to test the intake air temp sensor as well.

A vacuum leak
Leaking air intake after the throttle body
EGR leaking vacuum
A faulty positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve
Damaged/failed/dirty throttle body
Failed EVAP system
Failed IAC (idle air controller) or faulty IAC circuit

I had a misfire code in my car and the heated oxygen sensor code was present as well. I changed the plugs and wires but went one step beyond and changed the coil packs and ICM/ECM underneath as well. The misfire code was gone, as well as the heated oxygen sensor code, ran somewhat smooth but still had to tow it home due to a rather odd knock which I thought was a bad lifter. Turned out to be a bad bearing on the crank. The engine overheated, cracked a head so dex-mud and water got in the motor and that was that.

ouch, sorry to hear that. My engine does not knock and runs pretty damn strong without a hic-up, for 149k. doesn't leak oil and doesn't lose coolant. i would say im lucky but chevy vehicles have never let me down yet

for sure, i plan on getting even the little'est of parts no matter what, because this way i know what ive installed and in the long run will know when i installed them. buying a used car isnt always the cheapest way, but hey i got the camaro ive always wanted so i dont care.

I think I might know whats going on with high idle, on my egr valve it is turned differently then all of the pictures ive been looking at. would a improperly turned egr valve cause high idle????
