BTW there is no sensor #3 There is an upstream Bank 1 and 2 and downstream. (some V8 cars/trucks have 2 downstream sensors one for each cat on dual cat systems)

If the computer listed a sensor 3 I would guess it is the downstream sensor, which is the one after the cat. IF that sensor has failed it could also be a sign of a plugged cat. A plugged cat can cause the issues just as you described.

got the codes today P0147,P0102 AND P0300 basicConcepts, a guy from autozone use to work for a shop came out started the car put it in 1st with emg, brake on stepped on the gas and said right away its the convertor, cat is gone, you can hear it rattle like a snake, he said he is 95% sure this is the problem with the car setting off codes. im going to get it changed tomorrow. So good guess on the cat Basicconcepts

i deal with plugged cats all the time i changed 3 today and theres another one tomorrow

when you pull your old fuel filter off dump the contents into a mason jar and see whats in there then let us know

i changed plug wires and it rides alot smoother however still has check engine code and will not accel when pushing down the gas pedal hard, the engine is for sure being held back from hard accel, im getting ready to change fuel filter and tomorrow getting a new cat. ill keep you guys informed thanks again to all for the help im sure sooner or later we as a team at camaroforums with have my car running strong

unplug the maf and make sure the male parts of the plug are not bent or busted, check the wires coming out of the plug for any damage, kinks, burns, bare spots, stuff like that. look for a vacuum leak.

i heard you can spray carb cleaner on vac lines and the engine will rev slightly if theres a leak never tried it tho

under hood fuse panel there is a fuse slot for ecu sensor, I put a fuse in it and the car refuses to start and or dies killing the car anyone know why

btw I sprayed carb cleaner around vac lines and nothing. so may not be a vac leak. Im going to buy a Magnaflow Catalytic Converter tomorrow and take it to a shop to have it installed, but first ill ask the guy if the old cat is still good this way I can save some money

whats the emissions laws where you live if they dont test or know a mechanic that will pass your car if they do id say get rid of the cat thats way cheap

does your exhaust have a sulphur smell to it
