SS cars have stiffer suspension and a better flowing exhaust. The SS also had the optional SLP package. I don't think Z28's had that option available. SS cars also have better trim (hood, spoiler, and wheels)

I doubt that the exhaust flowed better, unless the SS got better exhaust manifolds or higher flowing cats. The SLP package was the SS package and it was available for the Z28.

I think it was the cat-back that was better flowing. I heard that on here from someone. Not sure who though.

The cat-back is just a noise maker.

the cat back and the mufflers were a high flow, they were option from slp only.the ss hood like the ws6 hood does give a little more hp.with those combinations give a little more hp than the z, also with the different gears will get you off the line quicker and makes the car seem a lot faster.

most of the air comes from beneath the car. if you have taken a look at the way the airbox is put together, most of the flow will come from the radiator area. the hood is mostly decorative

i'm saying straight line performance. the motor doesn't make any more power in either car.

hence Z28 = SS = T/A = WS6

and the "RAM AIR" hoods on the SS aren't functional. they were on the LT1's, but not on the LS1's

u sure about that? I thought the SS and WS6 had a modified airbox that stood up higher. I know it is that way on the ws6. The lt1 had a different Top-feed airbox design for the ram air, but that doesnt mean its non-functional in the ls1 cars
