Not sure I understand what you mean when you say the starter is "tripping my VATS system". The only connection I can find that the VATS system has with the starter is a ground it provides to the Theft Deterrent Relay coil. Without this ground, the relay will not energize when the key is in the start position and the starter solenoid will not receive the 12V power supply needed to activate the solenoid which controls the starter motor being energized. You 're right, the VATS also control the injector circuit, but I don't see how installing a starter could effect that function or the Theft Deterrent Relay because the two systems have no wiring in common. The Theft Deterrent Relay contacts and coil are not electrically connected, when the relay coil energizes it mechanically closes the relay contacts.

I went back and looked at the schematic again and found that I incorrectly stated the relay coil and its contacts were not electrically connected. The 12V source is the same for both, but the only way replacing the starter could effect the relay coil that I see, would be by creating a voltage drop while cranking that was large enough that the coil no longer had a 12V supply to energize it. If this was the case, I think you would at least hear the solenoid kicking in and out.

I'm not hearing anything when I try to start the car. The security light comes on as soon as I turn the key. I've got a VATS delete system, just not installed yet. I think I'm just gonna order a 96 Corvette starter and put that on there.
