Default Anybody have a convertible boot?

Hi does anyone here have a convertible boot? Ive got a 2002 z28 convertible and i want to get a boot for the open convertible. I see an oem one on ebay but have no idea if there is any added hardware needed to secure it or if it will clip onto my existing setup? The seller indicated there was none needed but id like to verify. Thanks

You don't need anything else besides the boot. The side covers has tabs that insert into slots near the seat belts retractors and the center piece has tabs that are placed under the trunk lid. You will have to open the truck lid, install the side and center pieces, then close the lid. The center piece has a latch on the front driver side. You need to make sure this latches or the air could get underneath it and cause the boot to come loose. I've found I have to lift up the front of the boot at the latch until I hear it click to do this. I'm pretty sure the owners manual covers all this.

I've attached the owners manual pages that may help explain how to use the boot. Something I didn't mention above was that you close the two top latches before installing the boot. By the way, if your car has a beige interior, the boot should also be beige.

Awsome thanks PP, so i saw one on ebay 275$ seems like a decent price no? It came with the bag, there was another one for 975$, too much money imo.

Any suggestions on where to purchase? I tried chevy but they did not have any, any aftermarket oem styles out there that anyone knows of? If not, ill keep looking on ebay. Thanks again!

$275 would be the lowest price I've seen for a boot cover, especially with the bag. Generally, they are priced in the $400 on $600 range on Ebay. You might find one on Craigslist if you did a nationwide search. I personally haven't seen any aftermarket covers. Doesn't mean they don't exist, just that I have never seen one for sale.

Don't know how particular to detail you may be, but there are differences in color between the years. The beige seems to be consistent throughout the fourth generation, but there were several shades of gray and an ebony color used over the same period. I believe in 2002, ebony was the correct color if the interior was not beige. Generally, the boot should match the rear seat trim panel color.
