Default power windows

Once I hit 100,000 miles my power windows have stopped working. Possibly overheating as it works again a bit later. Looking for help on repairing the window motor.

Both windows or just the driver's side?
Both may be a problem with the body control module, just driver's side may be a bad motor.
The window motor can be had in a kit but the BCM is obsolete, you will have to either pull yours and send it in to be redone( eBay guy) or get one from a wrecking yard and try it or send it in then replace yours when it comes back.

Knowing the year would help since not all 4th gens even have BCMs.

Motors are a very common issue for these cars and the first one you do will be a bear. I knew a bodyman that used to mess with 4th gens and he said he could go to a u-pull it lot buy a door with a working motor and paint it and replace it on the car faster than he could switch the motors.

Having a manual is always a good idea and you can down load many of the original factory manual in PDF format for free. Check out the Manual sections on this sight.

As a former GM Master tech there are some jobs are a bear even when you know exactly what to do. Many mechanics come up with their own process that works for them. I can remember hating doing rack and pinons in the old Cavalier even after doing a half a dozen of them I hated doing them. The guy next to had a bunch of tricks and could do them in half the time I could but he had done hundreds of them.
