Default Power steering whine

When I got the car a week ago, I noticed the power steering pump whining. So, I got the new pump and put it on. But still got the whine. It is full of fluid. At first the fluid was real foamy and full of air. Now it looks fine. I thought maybe it just needed drove but Ive put about 500 miles on it and its still whining. Almost sounds like the car has a turbo charger.

Does it whine all the time or just when you are turning right or left?

the wine is ussully air getting into the suction side of the pump, are you seeing any leakage? could be the seals on the rack letting air in hard to say.

Are you low on fluid? If so it's a HOSE LEAK!! Mine did the exact same thing when I got it! Whined and leaked. I just checked it out tonight and it is the Pressure hose. Right where the metal meets the rubber it is leaking. But if it is not leaking then I don't know man.

It does whine all the time but not near as much when its just sitting still. Doesnt appear to be leaking at all, fluid is still full, no drops on the floor.

Ok then it's probably not a hose leak.

Oh, "just" a rebuild of the rack? I should have that knocked out in what, 10, maybe 15 minutes?

I have the same issue. How do I rebuild/seal the "rack"?
