Question power doesn't work? won't start?

hey... i have a 94 rs... bout a week ago, i jumped in the car, turned the lights on (worked fine), put in the key, and as i turned the ignition, i heard some weird clicking noise... (not that noise when your battery is dead... this was different)

anyways, the car didn't and wouldn't start... all the power shut off including the lights and dome light. here's the weird thing tho... the neon that i have wired up to the battery (has been for years) and the remote trunk unlock button still worked? i had my dad come jump me... literally as soon as he connected the cables, i was able to start it...

i let it run for a while (noted that the battery was on 13volts the whold time, turned it off and once again, it wouldn't start!!! but i still have power to the neons and the trunk unlock...

got jumped again, brought it home and put the battery on a charger. same thing happens, it starts when its got something hooked up right away...

bought a new battery... still don't work!

sum it up... battery has full power. all fuses are fine. car has no power (any!!! no lights or ding ding when you turn the key NOTHING!!!)

so wtf is wrong!?!?! lol help me out?

Are you sure the jumper cables were connected properly? You may have blown a fusible link or blown something out.

Check your connections for corrosion...junction block, battery terminal at the starter, battery ground at the frame and/or engine, etc.

Check the cable holding screws on the battery. On occasion the screws on side terminals can bottom out before they can make the cable tight against the battery.

i had this same problem with my 78 about a week ago! what it tunred out was that somewhere along the line i think i fried a cell in the battery (i took the battery out of an old 4cyl i junked) i guess it wasnt strong enough to crank the 350 lol, when testing the bat it read 12 volts, but the amps were next to nothing, i tried a different battery and it was fine. although the cabels on the terminal themselves may be loose like they stated above, that happened to my Suburban a few times.

aight well i'll go check the terminals and connections... but how does that explain that the trunk unlock button still works fine? woudn't it be all or nothing if the battery wasn't connecting?
