you could easy go around .530 for lift.

but try to keep your duration a little smaller. 211 or 218 are probably good lift numbers. i dont know if they makea 224 for you, that could be a little more aggressive one.

With the 230/244 valve springs are going to be a must but i think you already know that. I normally dont like aftermarket rockers on daily drivers due to the valve chatter but they may be a good investment if you are dead set on this set up [>:]. Personaly i would have gone with somthing like spec suggested but maybe just a little higher with a 218/224 0.495 int./0.503 exh 112 lsa for a mean street cam with fair idea and a mean sound.

well, im a big fan of lift.... but i drive an ls1 so maybe im biased

I dont see why springs will be necessary with duration. you could have a 360duration cam (well..... u cant.... but u see what im gettin at) and as long as the lift doesnt bind the spring youre good. That being said, its my opinion that new vavles are a part of any new cam swap. even on a little baby cam I would change out my stock springs. they are usually designed to only take daily driving with the stock cam. hell, even if u wanted to regularly drive your car hard on the stock cam it may be a good idea lol

cbr.... have u like doubled ur posts in the last couple weeks??? werent u around 600 when i did the star change?

No i have been slow on here the last few months. In fact when the star change accrued i had just over 1000.

But this is good advice even with a hot cam its good to upgrade your springs. This is a big cam for a bolted LT1 and would not have been my first choice but it will sound like a beast.

On a side note what cam are you running spec.

232/234 595/598 113lsa

but to the OP, im an ls1, our cam stock is much larger than many SBC cams. and this cam has pretty poor low end torque, definite high revver.... i cant even imagine what .640 lift on a lt1 would do lol. that car would be drooling on itself

As shown in my sig i run 228/234 114 with .605/.605

But for your car that is a huge cam. I dont know how street friendly she will be and you are going to loss a noticeable bit down low. You are going to need to get the car up in the power band to get the most out of here so a good stall and good rubber to get that power to the ground our a must.

talking to me or the OP?

im hoping to tune some more torque into it. hopefully the driveshaft comes in tomorrow and the shop can start tuning it. also with 4.10s going in it will definitly help me get into the power band.

your cam has alot of duration for a FI cam. does it have blower ramp rates? mine is a tsp cam so, while they arent as steep as fi cams, it has some pretty steep ramp rates which i like for the nitrous.

To the OP: You're motor isn't going to last long because you're going to have some piston/valve interference problems. Motors with screwed up valves don't work very well

To the Comp Cam question: The lift on that cam looks good to me, you don't have to run a cam that has the same intake and exhaust lift. I agree with Spec, you may have gone a little extreme on the durations.

To all LT1 Guys: Don't try to target LS1 lift, you'll end up screwing something up (most likely, unless you have a lot of time, money and calculations into your motor).
