Okay well is there ANY oil in the engine? Like is the guage just flat zero or what
cause I dont think it could be anything else other than the pump or a leak
and it cant be a leak cause youd know of course

 

well here is the thing when I bought it it had aftermarket white face gauges in it so I didnt know how correct it was?? ...meaning my rpm would sometimes stick and my oil pressure would be high ...atleast to me pegged out.. well I have known people before put them in and mess everything up?? ..So anyway I checked the oil and It wasnt due for another 200 miles and I am only a half a court low. So it has oil but its not getting to the top . My check engine light was flashing and my bro has a scanner but I think the car has to be running and I dont want it running any more than it has to if not at all! I want to be able to save this motor but if its more than a oil pump I am taking it back to the dealership and parking it in their lot lol... I would buy the caprice motor but Its more being pissed and stubborn of chevy's! Yea I got on it about 10min before it happened but If I have to worry about how much gas I give it then screw it lol...heckI learned after I bought it that the stupid thang has a govenor due to non z rated tires. so its not like I can go over 115 in it lol..Heck even my 96 impala ss was junk!!! I had a el camino with a 400 in it it was strong and good but no madder what I did it loved to leak oil?? I think I am just ment for mustangs LOL

 

Also My oil pressure isnt at the very bottom but When I start my car the needle doesnt budge!

 

lol it has a governor?!?
mines got ZR rated tires stock... and its a 96 too
oh well i guess its an option or something
well i love chevys... but theyre still american cars so theyre a little less reliable...

 

LOL yeah mine didnt... I have to get it removed that is if I figure my problem out?? ...lol You should of seen my face when I relized it a week after I bought it!! ...after wanting to see what the other side of the fence was like I beleived I got kicked in the face

 

Also do I have to pull the motor our just jack it up a lil to take off the oil filter??

 

pull the motor to change the oil filter??? of course not! it just screws off.

oh and that sounds like its the oil pump
and if u meant to ask oil pump instead of filter, then yeah, u gotta take out the engine

 

LOL sorry I am so pissed I meant pump not filter.. hell I wish it was the filter!! See what I mean pull a motor for a damn pump!!!!!!! lol I cant win.. Do you think I should do it and see or you do think my bearings are screwed now???

 

Another thing ..I have never pulled a motor in a newer camaro...Whats the easiest way??? I have been told drop it from the bottom but I dont have a lift!

 

my guess.... is that the bearings are shot
but i cant be too sure
and i havent either, so i have no idea haha
