Well one thing after another with this damn car!! I like stated before have a 96 z. The other dat I left for my lunch break and as I was driving i heard a sound like a exhaust leak! Well I shut it off right as I heard it and relized that my check engine light was flashing and that I lost oil pressure! The sound that I was hearing was my lifters getting no oil! My Q is would this be a oil pump and if so would this fix it ??? It wasnt ran long at all once heard but I amso pissed with this car !!Ijust bought this car 2 months ago after switching from mustangs and day after day I drove my mustang hard and never anything like this happened!! Is my motor toast??? or bearings?? I feel sick lol !! Also after looking at the car do you have to pull the motor to change a oil pump or can i just jack it up?? Please let me know so I dont waste mymoney and time on a oil pump????

You seem too excited about it haha...
okay well lets see...
did the oil pressure drop before it did that or was it a kinda ALL THE SUDDEN NO OIL kinda thing?
cause it seems like itd take awhile of not gettin oil for it to start making a noise like that
oh and youre DEFINITELY gonna have to pull the motor to change an oil pump... its wayyyy back in there.
lt1 engines are a ***** to work on... i found that out just by changing a water pump

Uhh if your really worried about making sure it was the oil pump, take it to a professional!!!! But that does suck, and I dont think that a lt1 motor was in the caprice police car.
