Default Phone Holder

Anyone use an actual mount or holder? What are you using/where mounted? I currently put my ohone in the ash tray compartment (removed ash tray obviously) but sometimes if I hit a bump, it falls down inside. I was looking at the kind that plug into the lighter but those would interfere with my shifter...maybe something I can just bolt to the passenger side of the console or something? I installed an additional 12 volt outlet inside the console for the charger, I just need a convenient place for a holder. I dont want a window mounted suction cup or a vent mounted one (too flimsy).

I use the cup holder for mine and I have a Droid 3, so it's a decent size phone. Works well for me at least.

Do you have it plugged in charging or just loose? I put mine in the little hole next to the lighter

put it in the cassettes place. by the way the 95 - 96 have an extra power output under the cassette box.

I tried in the cassette place but it comes flying out when I take off from stop lights. I want something that clamps it in place somewhere. I'll let you know what I find.

i remember seeing a bass controller **** that was screwed onto the center console right where your right knee would be, just actually on the center console since most all of our knees are probably up at the steering wheel. lol. It basically was a plate that was screwed on, and on the bass controller **** was another plate. you slid the bass controller **** onto that plate. it was about half an inch, had enough tension that it wouldnt move, and they just set together. it couldnt go down, only up.

so i imagine if you get a cheap phone case for it, you could do that same basic idea. put a slider on the back of the phone case and a catch on the center console. no problem.

Here's what I cam up with. I found a cheap holder that is spring loaded. I trimmed the ash tray opening so it would fit inside and then used fiberglass resin to "glue it in place and seal it in. The top still closes completely when the phone is not in it. Works great.
