ive been thinking about getting the jet stage 2 performance chip for my 3.8L camaro, but im not really sure if ill actually get the 13hp it promises. i dont really want to waste my money, but i have some extra cash to spare. has anyone heard about this chip or know of another chip i could get?

 

chips are just a nice way companies scam people into money, they dont do anything =] its just a radioshack resistor.

 

Your car has a reprogrammable PCM, so you don't need a "chip" you can just get a tune. That being said you're not going to get much, if any, HP out of a tune on an otherwise stock motor. The JET chips trick the PCM into making the car run rich, but they only work for a certain amount of time because the car takes readings from the MAF and O2 sensors and edits the fuel tables to get you running at the right mixture.
