Default OPTI or NOT?

Hey guys to make a long story short... i baught a car 94 Z28 not running, has has been sitting since 2000.

The car wouldn't start... it turned over... but no start, it was backfiring out the intake. so i thought the opti, and after pulling the opti out, the cap and rotor were ****ed!!!

I didnt want to spend the money on a new one til i knew what the issue was. so my buddy had a extra one lying around, but it was from a CAPRICE, it was different... vented and a different back piece.

So i took the cap and rotor out and put it in mine, and then after trying to get the car running for 6 months... SHE FIRED right up first turn no problem!!

I then put the ballencer back on the water pump, but not the rad. started it again... fired up, idled down to just under 1000 rpm, so i touched the gas a little and then it died out, and now won't start again!!![:@]

I got a little over 40 PSI fuel pressure, IS THIS THE OPTI OR NOT? PLEEEEAAAAASSSEEEE TELL ME.

help would be greatly appreciated.

The vented opti will not engage properly to the drive. If you want to use vented, you need to use the unvented body and replace the rotor and cap with a vented one. Most likely the rplacement opti jumped out of time because of the poor drive engagement.

Yeah that makes sense... thanks alot i just needed some closure before i went out and baught a new opti.
