Parts interchange 93-94
RE: 94 daily driver and 93 parts car both v8 z28
from reading some posts I think I read that the 93 transmission will not work for the 94. I was planning on pulling the 93 engine and tranny and slowly building it while I wear out the 94 but now I dont know what to do with the 93 stuff So is it a straight swap or no.
Next is there a 4speed kit
Third do you know if there is anything on the 93 that would be an upgrade to the 94 IE: Rear end ect
Probably too many questions but feel free to chime in on any or all
Thanks in advance for all the help. I used to hate this car but I am starting to fall in love with it even though it appears to only be good for getting from zero to 60 quickly if you can keep the wheels stuck to the ground.
Other than that it lacks extreme pickup on the top end. I guess they had to choose one or the other.

It won't be a straight swap, except for the bolting in part. The transmissions are different the 93 uses a 4L60/700R4 while the 94 uses a 4L60E computer controlled. The engine controls are different: 93 uses speed density and batch fire injectors, 94 uses mass air and sequential fire injectors. The computers are completely different. You can use many mechanical parts from a 93 on a 94, but the electricals and engine management electronics are not interchangeable.

You can build the '93 engine, and just swap over the sensors from your '94 when you are ready to replace it. I believe that internally, the two engines are identical. It is only in the fuel delivery and engine controls that there are significant differences.
The tranny is another issue altogether. They don't swap between the two cars.
The chassis and body pieces should be direct swaps for just about everything.
