Default Painless Wiring Harness

In the event I don't find a 97 Z28 manual trans engine wiring harness I might have to shell out the big bucks for something like the Painless Performance sets. Anybody have experience with these custom types? do the powertrain control module plugs and all the sensor plugs, and injector connections match up? Oh yeah, this is a base 6 cyl manual tranny car we're putting the Z28 K member motor and tranny in.
Thanks
Steve

It all depends on what year the V6 and what you know about programming a PCM.

You can get aftermarket harness to run the engine. The problem will be what's going to run the rest of the car. On the 97 the PCM runs the ABS/Anti theft system/gages /body control module. The body control module controls just about everything else, AC- heat-windows, door locks.

One advantage of the 97 is if you have an automatic harness you can program out the automatic trans control and run a manual trans.

The 97 wiring is complete different from a 94. There is a chart that shows everything needed to swap V6 to V8 but we need to know the year of the V6.

Edit:
Make sure you read this carefully The W on the very bottom is the one you want to avoid. It just says all wiring. That will triple the work needed. For what bodies are selling for I would sell the one I had and buy one that matched the the engine I had. Heck you can find 97 Z28 with bad motors for $600-700 then its a weekend project. There are tons of threads on converting auto to stick.
