P0125 and P0147
I have searched as far back as 2010 postings and cannot find... I have a 99 rebuilt 3.8 Camaro. The engine does have some high performance parts to it, cam, lifters, smoothed/polished out interiors heads, ceramic headers, MDS wiring, hot plugs, K & N filter. It was running fine for a couple of years. About a year ago, I got a 125 code (Insufficient Coolant Temperature For Closed Loop Fuel Control) . I have replaced the thermostat, coolant sensor, the coolant level is fine. Also, I do get a strong smell of gas in the engine and cabin. I do notice that when I replace the sensor, the gas smell stops for a while and the old one seems fine. When the outside temp drops below 40, I get a engine light. Moreover, the car seems to run cold according to the dash gauge. Back on gas smell, when I check under the hood, I don't see any large amounts of gas spillage.
Today, I thought of looking again into this issue, I went to Auto Zone to get a code print out again. I now have a 147. I am about to throw in the towel and buy me a mustang
. Just kidding, no take it to a mechanic.
If anyone can share some knowledge to this... it would be greatly appreciated.
