Default Overheat-more problems

Alright so I'm new to posting but here it is. This wont be my first fbody but I'm looking at buying a 97 z28. But it has overheated. It's at like 130k, I think I can fix the problem easily but I'm wondering what else he could have hurt if he didn't notice it soon enough? I notice no water I the oil. He is selling it relatively cheap also. Any info will be great

Well, if he let it get too hot theoretically he could have cracked a head or something along the lines of that, but you should be getting water in the oil if that's the case, and you say there isn't any. That said, overheating is usually due to a faulty thermostat, coolant temp or possibly the fan relay etc. Really the only way to know is to see specifically what it's doing and when.

Awesome. Thanks for your thoughts. I'll keep that in mind when I'm inspecting. However I'm leaning more towards getting a nicer one that I just won't have to ***** with as much. But two grand for a 97 is going to be tempting. Your silver one looks exactly like I've always invsioned mine to look like when I finally upgrade to an ls. I hope you will reply to what I'm going to ask in the v6 section.
