my outer door shell is coming apart from the rest of the door. should i cut out the adhesive with a razor knife? what adhesive do i put on there to fix it?

 

Scrape off as much of the old adheasive as you can. To glue it back together properly you will need a special SMC adheasive that you should be able to find at an autobody supply store. You may need to get a special application gun to work with the tube since most of the stuff is 2 part and uses a mixing tube as it is released from the bottles.

Also use C-clamps and paint sticks to hold the door tight together as the stuff dries. Vice grips will work good here too but make sure you use paint sticks or some thing like that to protect the SMC and paint.
