I guess GM moved it after 93. On my 93Z the OPS is down low by the oil filter...

Yeah, on my 95 z its behind the intake under the cowl near driver side(a (fill in slot) to get out). I won't lie, i cussed my car for a good amount of time

It makes no sense they would stick it up there on a 95 when it was easy to get to on 93s, but then again i have a obd1.5 that no one can scan but dealer. If it ever go's bad again, its getting a aftermarket gauge for sure

P.S: Headers get hot, just a fyi

I thought Chaotic had it in his thread with step by step...but maybe I'm wrong. Too many hours of school and work and not enough sleep are taking their toll on me.

Any ways, '94 and later got oil pressure sensor behind the intake to give what they call a truer reading of oil pressure since you're going to have less up top than would down by the filter. I have a aftermarket gauge set up in my car but not hooked up as GM put an impossible NPT fitting in that hole.

I read 65 pages of Chaotic topic and went to bed at that point. I only seen a picture of be for when it was cracked and after when he repaired it. He did not do a write up, but I'll pm him one of these days when I'm ready to mess with my dash again.

I notice something, and hope its normal(I doubt it). My oil pressure stays at around half when driving, but when coming to a stop it drops almost into the orange area(slightly above it). The low oil light or nothing comes on. Hoping its not a oil pump going bad?...

P.S; I'm hoping its not a bad pressure sensor, I really don't want to mess with that thing again haha...

It seems erratic, called manufacturer of sensor in question and he said might be bad part to send it in(or exchange at parts house). That's not happening because I'm not changing that gain

P.S: My buddy thinks it may be dues to the plug that plugs into it(after all it as been patched/tapped up).

What are your rpms (approximently) when this happens? And does it go back up when rpms increase?

Drops almost to orange as soon as i let off the gas and start breaking for a stop light etc. Always goes back up when i start driving from a stop(as soon as i push the gas). I was talking to someone and they said LT1 oil pressure is really low at idle.

However when i park at idle it show's more pressure then when coming to a stop, I'll double check this in the morning.

I called the manufacture just to ask, and he "assumed" bad part, which that don't mean much. I'm just going to call it normal and go with it
