Default Oil Pressure

Just out of curiosity what does your oil pressure hang out at with a cold engine? Mine is around the 3/4 mark and it just seems a bit high.

To high? To high for what? First, Unless you have added a high end gage you stock gage is crap. Second, High oil pressure by itself will not hurt anything. If you had high oil pressure and say valves tapping that would mean you had blockage of an oil passage. High oil pressure will steal a small amount of HP but as long as its under 80 psi and the engine is nice and smooth you have a nice tight motor.

BTW what oil are you running?

Forgot to mention. I am running Mobile 1 5-30. The reason I asked is because I blew my oil line off from my oil filter relocation kit. I do not think it will happen again since I doubled up the clamps, but just wondering if it blew because I am running abnormally high. Thanks for the info.
