Default Oil Pan Gasket Replacement

So... I have a 95 3.8L and I believe the gasket on the oil pan is leaking... (atleast I hope it is that and not the rear main seal). I hear this job is a pain.... has anyone done this before?

It is a pain since the K-member is in the way. You need to unbolt the engine from the K-member lift the engine a little and lower the K-member enough to clear the oil pan. The gasket is a large one piece gizmo that has the splash guard or baffle built into it. Simple to install but a pain to get to.

yeah support the engine from the top and disconnect engine mounts and lower the goldmember, i mean, k-member.. shouldntreally be to much of a job

if it was your rear main seal the bottom bell housing half would be super sludgy, and the front of the pan almost dry.. if its a pain gasket the area thats leaking should be the muddiest.. and possibly a dry spot were it dont leak none
