Oil Leak Need help
Hello to all- Just picked up my "new" 1994 Z-28 Convertible. Got it home and noticed an oil leak and traced it to the front main bearing seal. Have several questions. What should a guy pay to have the seal replaced. I heard its a booger of a job and takes a good mechanic who knows what "Torque and angle" means. What if I just say the heck with it and put in some of that seal conditioner. Does that stuff work and will it cause more problems ? Also it has 125K miles on it and looks like the plugs have never been changed. One fellow told me not to worry about it if it runs OK. Suggestions ? One more thing; So disappointed to see it has a 115MPH speedo. Please tell me all the issues with putting a 150 MPH speedo. Does that mean I have a speed limiter ? (It has 235 tires). Thanks
change the plugs,,, its worth it,,, might take all day,,, or two,,, lol. again having the right tools can make it much easier. flex head 3/8 ratchet helps. I usually take my time so I don't get frustrated so it can take most of a day but have done it in a couple hours.
If memory serves that speedo is a convertible thing, not sure what it takes to swap in a 150,thinking there's a speed governor on the ragtops so it's probably tied into the ECM.
