Default OBD1 into 2 connection and laptop info please.

I have a 95 Camaro with OBD1 codes via the OBD2 connector.
Who knows the good connector cable and best software to read and reset codes. I have PC style laptops for software.
And for the maybe of later, to fiddle with items that need attention when parts get changed.
I know I will need this equipment someday so who knows the answer to this one folks !!

Thanks for that Gorn. Good reading.
It's all rather old info though so I wonder who else out there in Camaro land can chime in with what software they run.
Many of the sites listed are out of date, others just open up looking pretty dubious !!

I spent the money, bought the cable, (it works btw) downloaded Scan9495, which is the simple look and clear faults software. Very nice it is too but I can't find base line numbers to know when deviations are happening.
I also downloaded EEHack software that looks very interesting but more intimidating.
So any help out there for baseline numbers to help an enthusiast will be greatly appreciated.
