I want to replace the Chevy emblem on the nose of the Camaro- the red white and blue one. How should I go about removal of the old emblem?

 

heat gun on low indirect heat. If you allow the heat to stay on the paint, you may damage the finish. Try holding a heat gun (in the on/low heat possition) about a foot or so from the emblem, after a few, it should heat up and come off with a little help. Or you can try and just peal it off.

 

Thanks for the reply Chappie. I dont have much experience with using a heat gun and I dont want to bubble my paint.....I might just heat it up a bit with the hair dryer then pry it off? Is it just stuck on with adhesive?

 

yes i belive it its you should be able to pill it off. I would think so at least.

btw what are you replaceing it with?

 

on my 3rd gen that i had it actually had little pegs in it that went into the nose to hold it in but im not sure if thats how it is with the 4th gens

 

How did you remove it with the pegs?

 

its just a sticker, peel it off. Found one @ a bone yard and I just peeled it off.

 

You think my paint will come with it?
