She needed tires, a tranny seal and a raditor along with a few other minor things but I drove her home 100 miles and 2 years later she still runs like a raped ape.

Thats a great idea i've never rebuilded an engine before and i don't have a garage so it might not be an option for me.

Hi guys time to chime in, I would hold out for the 98. The LT1 isnt a bad engine, but the LS1 in ten fold. More power, less weight, responds better for budget mods. Like cold air intake, chip, and a decent exhaust and your already fields ahead of the LT1 with the same mods.
