Nitrous????
Hey i was wondering if i shoulld put nitrous on my 02 ls1. Its only got an intake and few minor upgrades. It was my understanding that you can safely add 20 hp per cylinder and be fine. I also hear that ls1 love nitrous. Or should i get heads and a cam instead?Any info would be appreciated thanks
The LS1 does take nitrous pretty well in small amounts, but like with any car, youre just going to destroy your engine faster than you want to. You should definetly help the car to breathe better with heads, exhaust, a cam, and other bolt ons before you even think about going with a shot!
As i say, "all throttle, NO bottle".

power is power is power is power.
and power is what causes wear to the engine. a head/cam package making 450rwhp will wear the engine just as fast as boltons and nitrous. your motor doesnt know how the oxygen and fuel get into it. as long as you tune correctly any and all ways to make power will equally affect engine life.

also, since i have a m6 i was wondering if a window switch would be needed? so there isn't a massive nitrous backfire. i would also prefer wet systems. any suggestions on certain brands or setups? any info about nitrous is appreciated
i bought mine from a speed shop. the msd site didnt list it for some reason. but you can check around for an RPM window controller/switch.i like msd, but there are others out there. make sure to get a digital one though. and i think they are around 300 bucks, but i bought mine so long ago i cant remember
u should look up harrisonspeedworks HSW they hav good products but check out there microedge controller its lik a window switch but does alot more its 399 right now. i got my kit from a shop on ls1tech nitro daves great kit for a real great price
