shorty's really aren't the best route to go...granted, they're much better than stock, but a longtube header is by far the best way to go. BBK isn't a BAD brand, but it goes back to what i said about it being a shorty and not the best choice. again...i don't want to rep another forum in this thread either...kind of looks bad, haha. i don't mind used parts as long as you know what you're getting. bought a few used parts off of other forums myself

i want to apolgize, i didnt mean to be rude at all, its frustrating trying to do so much at once, track opens in 2 weeks, and im doing everything i possibly can to be somewhere in the 12s, i have no idea where i sit now with the little amount of mods i have, i think im going for the bbk shorties over the weekend, i guess i will appreciate any gains i get and noise for some reason thats a big issue to me right now. the guy i buying the headers off has a comp cam, not sure on the numbers, he says its a mid cam, chances of putting that on without built heads and rockers, will i be ok for a while? my plan is to get those two things on and goto the local performance shop for a tune and dyno for $400. a buddy of mine with a 2002 TA told me he saw a very nice hp gain from the tune, just want as many mods as possible before the tune. also given the 373 gears, flow master exhaust, msd digital ignition, new boush plugs, wires, and falken cheater slicks, any idea on quarter mile time as it sits?

as it is now? 13.5 or so.
you don't want to put a cam in without upgrading your rockers, springs, and pushrods. that's just asking for trouble. if you're going to do it, you might as well do it right. i'd like to know more specs on the cam before i decided to tear apart the top end of my car to throw a cam in

I agree with Wham. In order to consistently hit 12's you're going to need a better cam, but that said, if you just toss in an aftermarket cam you could actually hurt your 1/4 mile time. Also I would be VERY hesitant to install a used cam, even if it's a full roller assembly.

i agree with slvr...a secondhand cam is not something i'd feel comfortable doing. i don't mind getting most of the other things like rockers and springs secondhand, but definitely not the cam. of course i'm going to be doing everything specifically for my goals so a secondhand cam would be hard to find that would match what i want. that thinking would open up a whole new ballgame for you though

well if he wants to hit 12's in a short amount of time with a short amount money nitrous is the way to go I wouldnt get Nitrous tho till after other mods are done tho as is said. But it is the cheapest HP gain.
