New wheels today
Hey guys i got a set of C6 ZO6 wheels today so i put them on obviously.
the wheel/tire combo dropped the car about 3/4" - 1" so thats all good but now i would like to complete the look and get some lowering springs.
ive pretty much decided on the eibach pro kit springs. and would like to know what supporting mods i will need so i dont ruin any suspension components on down the road from being low
heres a pic of the wheels. it was dark when i put them on so i dont have a picture of them on the car yet but it looks good

Strano springs are about the same price and much better quality. Eibach springs are known to sag (esp the pro-kit). Ideally you need adjustable shocks like Koni when running lowering springs. You can get away with using Bilsteins but they won't last as long.
I recommend doing your homework before lowering your car. Calling Sam Strano would be a good place to start.

I've lowered cars before but every car has different weak spots. I'm trying to see what problems people have had with the f-bodies.
I am just new to the camaro so I didn't know about Strano springs, thanks

ehem............
how did replacing wheels lower the car?
if you sized them wrong and the car's height did drop 1 inch then your speedometer is now way off and your "gear ratio" has changed
let's get back to basics
xxx by xxx by xxxx were previously on the car
xxx by xxx by xxx are now on the car
oh, the z06's are on my 4th gen (black) and i love the look

I lowered my car with Eibachs while using KYB shocks, 18" rims and tires. Back end would bottom out over SLIGHT BUMPS. I ended up leaving it lowered up front and put the stock springs back in the rear. At some point, I'd like to go up to 19's or 20's in the back with wheels/tires and go one inch smaller up front. It's all about money and every time I have it, the fiance has something she wants to do to the house. Grrr...
Wasn't just the wheels:
To drop that amount, that would mean the new tires are 1.5"-2" lower in overall height than the old tires were. Are they that much smaller? You can look up the tire specs on tirerack.com. And yes that will throw your speedo off, registering faster than the car is actually going. On the plus side, smaller diameter tires will give the car better bottom-end.

he still hasn't responded to my request for before and after tire dimensions
I mess with going wider all the time and try to keep within 1/8 inch height difference at most.
My favorite are the Chevy Impalas I see rolling on what looks like 3-4 foot tall tires
Ok sorry about not getting back I thought the thread died... Anyways i don't know the old tire combo but I believe it was stock size. The new tires are 275/40/17's the speedo isn't off at all because it's such a subtle difference in tire height. Has anyone on here used ground control to lower their car an what do you think because that's what I'm leaning towards
